Feb 2012 ~ News from the Nest

February 1, 2012

Welcome to our February newsletter.
The weather seems to have been the topic of conversation for many people and it has been here as well. It has been a mild one, but we do have some snow here. Not as much as other years but snow just the same. The only thing with this mild winter is that there has been more ice. That is not great with our long driveway and parking area. However, some salt, sand and fireplace ashes fix it up nice!
I hope that you have all been enjoying January and are looking forward to February. Here at the Nest we are happily receiving groups of Scrap bookers and this month we have a group of Quilters coming for their creative getaway. Looking forward to their stay.
I am doing a bit of future promoting in this newsletter as we are hosting two wonderful new retreats in May. Any workshops must be pre-registered with deposit.
The first one is a weekend retreat on Past LIfe Regression on the weekend of May 4-6.
An interactive exploration of other times and places!
Krow is facilitating this workshop and brings her decades of experience in past life regression work, teaching you the technique she has developed for past life remembrance, as well as future, co-current and outside of time/space experience.
There is so much more than we know, so much to remember and explore about ourselves. Phobias, patterns, relationships, talents and knowledge, the roots are always there. Working with this technique, we can explore our own soul’s history, and assist friends or clients towards healing and understanding the present!
Soul retrieval in it’s deepest sense.
Come learn how to time travel in a very safe and supportive weekend environment.
Books provided!
Classes are small and intimate and pre-registration is required.
More information on Krow and her workshop can be found on Facebook at the following link https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=148703051913307&id=52941248429 . Interest is growing so don't be left out and book your space early.
The next interesting workshop is facilitated by Julie Vermette of Wind Whisper in Toronto.

Hint of the Month
Parsnips is an often overlooked vegetable but don't write it off yet. Here is a recipe that will change your mind about them.

Creamed Parsnips with Bombay Butter. (try this instead of mashed potatoes)
1 1/2 lbs parsnips peeled and cut into chunks.
1 tsp. garam masala
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup whipping cream (I am sure that you could substitute light cream, almond breeze or coconut milk)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper.
1. Place parsnips in pot of salted water over medium-high heat, bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes or until very tender. Drain, return parsnips to pan and place over low heat for 1 minute or until all water has evaporated.
2. Place parsnips in a food processor with garam masala, cinnamon, and butter and puree until smooth. Add cream and process until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serves 4.

I hope that you enjoy this recipe.
Thank you for your time as always.
I will continue to provide a safe, comfortable healing space for your journey.
Walk in light and love.
